A few days ago an old friend came up to the homestead kitty to visit, bringing along his two teenage daughters. The girls listened, as we reminiscence of past glory and contemplated future dreams, as old friends do. Eventually the conversation turned to hunting, and the approaching fall squirrel season. The girls were in shock after finding out, for the first time, that people actually eat the little creatures. China has had a very nasty snowstorm, destroying crops and livestock as well as disrupting supplies and killing people (did Al Gore visit?). Expect food prices to skyrocket. China has lots of our money and a billion people to feed. read more »
