A few days ago an old friend came up to the homestead kitty to visit, bringing along his two teenage daughters. The girls listened, as we reminiscence of past glory and contemplated future dreams, as old friends do. Eventually the conversation turned to hunting, and the approaching fall squirrel season. The girls were in shock after finding out, for the first time, that people actually eat the little creatures. I could tell they were disgusted by the thought of someone partaking of such a thing.
